But BaZi, the Four Pillars system, switches years at Li Chun(立春, "start of spring"), the solar term that falls around February 4. Between those two dates every year there's a stretch of days where your party zodiac and your chart's year pillar can disagree — and if you were born in late January or the first half of February, your "real" sign may not be the one on the placemat.
