What your hand shape says

Classic palmistry sorts hands into four elements by proportion. A square palm with shorter fingers is an Earth hand — practical, steady, allergic to drama. A square palm with long fingers is an Air hand — analytical and articulate. A long palm with shorter fingers is a Fire hand — quick to start, quick to rally others. A long palm with long fingers is a Water hand — sensitive, imaginative, tuned to the emotional weather. We measure the ratios instead of eyeballing them, so the same hand always gets the same answer.

The three lines we read — and the ones we won't

Your heart line reads as emotional style, your head line as thinking style, and your life lineas energy style — how you spend it, never how long you live. We deliberately skip marriage lines, breaks, and anything that predicts events: those are the least reliable parts of folk palmistry, and the most likely to cause needless worry. If a line isn't clear on your hand, we say so and skip it — we never guess.

Frequently asked questions

Is this palm reading really free?

Yes. Your hand type, element, and the one-line reading of each major line are free with no account. The full written interpretation — how your lines work together, relationships, decision-making, energy — comes with a free LuckPillar account (100 Lumens included).

Does my photo get uploaded?

No — and this is the part we're proudest of. The hand-tracking model runs inside your browser on your own device. We never receive your photo, a thumbnail, or anything that looks like your hand. Even the analysis engine is served from our own domain, so your photo isn't shared with any third party either.

How does it work without sending my photo anywhere?

Your browser finds 21 key points on your hand (the same on-device technology used for gesture controls), measures palm length, palm width, and finger length, and matches the proportions against the four classic hand types. The lines are read from the anchor points you confirm on screen. Only geometry — never pixels.

What can my hand shape actually tell me?

Palmistry reads hand proportions as temperament: square palms lean practical, long palms lean expressive, long fingers lean analytical, shorter fingers lean action-first. We treat it as a mirror for reflection — patterns you can recognize and use — not as fortune-telling about events.

Which hand should I use?

Either works — the proportions that set your hand type are nearly identical on both. Tradition favors your dominant (writing) hand as the one that shows how you actually operate, so start there.

What about the marriage line, or how long I'll live?

We don't read those — on purpose. Marriage lines, breaks, and life-span claims are the least reliable and most anxiety-inducing parts of folk palmistry. We read three lines for temperament only: heart (emotional style), head (thinking style), and life (energy style — it has nothing to do with lifespan).

How is this different from a BaZi reading?

Your palm shows the pattern — how you think, feel, and spend energy. Your BaZi birth chart shows the timing — when those strengths are supported and when to move carefully. On LuckPillar the two cross-check each other: that combination is what the full reading unlocks.
